Principal's News

Dear Parents and Carers,

This Sunday is an important day in our Church’s calendar. Pentecost Sunday is celebrated 50 days after Easter Sunday. Pentecost comes from a Jewish harvest festival called Shavuot.

The apostles were celebrating this festival when the Holy Spirit descended on them.

It sounded like a very strong wind, and it looked like tongues of fire.

The apostles then found themselves speaking in foreign languages, inspired by the Holy Spirit.

This year it is special as a number of our Year 2 students will be completing their Rote of Enrolment in anticipation of completing the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We wish these students well on their spiritual journey.

Mother’s Day celebrations

Thank you to the families who joined us in our Mother’s Day celebrations last Friday, 10th May. We were thrilled to have such a great turnout for the Mother's Day Breakfast in the morning and Mass in the afternoon. A big thank you to all the volunteers who dedicated their time to help with the Mother’s Day Stall. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Cross Country

Today, Friday, 17th May, students travelled to Barraba to participate in the ADPSC Cross Country. Well done to all the students for their efforts and sportsmanship, and a big thank you to the parents and staff for your support. A special mention to Elizma Nel, who has qualified to represent the Armidale Diocese at the Polding trials to be held later this year

Winter Uniform official changeover

This is a reminder that our school requires all children to wear their full winter uniform (including school tie) starting Tuesday, 28th May. This is a bit earlier than usual due to the weather forecast and also to ensure that our students are wearing the same uniform for our School Photo Day on Thursday, 30th May. You may refer to our uniform guide by visiting bit.ly/3vn5UhT.

If it becomes colder in the coming weeks, students may wear their full winter uniform before the official changeover date.

If you require any uniform items, we recommend using the Made for School website or our on-site secondhand uniform shop (limited supply) via the Compass app. All uniforms are available to try on at the school office. If a specific item is out of stock online or you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

Catholic Schools Week celebrations

This year's theme for Catholic Schools Week is 'PRAY with HOPE'.

To celebrate, on Tuesday, 28 May, families are invited to join us for a shared picnic lunch from 1:20 to 1:40 pm. The canteen will provide tea and coffee. Classrooms will be open from 1:45 pm to 2:05 pm for families to visit, followed by prayer, and each class will perform an item starting at 2:20 pm. The celebratory cake will then be cut and served at 2:45 pm.

School Photos

This is a reminder that School Photo Day will be held on Thursday, 30th May. All students will be required to wear their full winter uniform (including tie) on this day.

The schedule for the day will be communicated next week.

School Photos are available to order online via Compass. To view options and purchase a photo pack, access the MSP Photography notification under My News or through the menu via the Compass app. MSP Photography also sent an email with this information during the school holidays.
