Upper Secondary (Years 9-10)

In the last few weeks 9/10s have been continuing to work hard at Hungry Flame! As a result to our data collection in class, we have made the decision to add soft drinks to our menu!

In Literacy we have been focusing on persuasive writing by looking at positive adjectives and language in advertisements and applying this to our work in the Café.

Some of our year 10 students have participated in a number of tours to different SBAT and VET programs to help them choose their courses for next year!

Senior Secondary (VPC/ASDAN)

What’s Happening In ASDAN?

Each week ASDAN students participate in an independent living skills program. This term we are learning to make simple snacks and drinks. We are learning to prepare cheese toasties, crumpets, pancakes, toast and muffin pizzas. Next week we will begin learning how to make a hot drink safely.

We are all enjoying working hard in the classroom and in the community.

VPC Possabiilty and Foodbank visit

On Tuesday 22nd of May, VPC students had an excursion to Possabiilty and Foodbank Victoria to learn about employment services, programs and opportunities. Pictured are students participating in discussions and site tours.

Some comments from students:

Arvind: Possability can help teach you how to travel independently and help you find and keep job.  At Foodbank, I saw lots trucks, forklifts, products and jobs in the warehouse. People can volunteer there but they have to be over 18.

Ben: Possabiliity had amazing things there like sensory room and a VR room. They help people get a job.

The Foodbank was fun; they help people-in to get food.

Sammy: it was alright; it was nice of them (Foodbank and Possability) to help us find a job we like to do.  It was nice to see how Foodbank sort all their products. They help thousands of people-in every day.

Ruqaiyah: it was interesting because there were a lot of different jobs at Foodbank. Visiting Possability was good because we got a tour around the building and played Kahootz to learn about career services.

Kendra: I loved how Possability give opportunities for people to get a job and I loved how Foodbank help people in need.

Shaun: Foodbank was alright; it looks like a good opportunity to work there and there were lots of different jobs. Possability help people write up a resume and apply for a job.
