Grade 6 visit to Balwyn High School

On Thursday, 6th June the grade 6's went to Balwyn High School with Miss Roast, Mr Parkins, Mrs Hondrakis and Mrs Reeve. We started off by having a chat in their theatre and learnt about "a day in the life of a high school student" and got to hear some advice from past BPPS students and what helped them settle into year 7.
Then we got to witness class transitions and to see how busy it really is! Then we were split into our activity groups which were our house groups. Killara and Burra did an electricity experiment in the Science labs while Comma and Attunga did a scavenger hunt. After 20 minutes we swapped over to do the other activity.
We were very lucky and got to go to the canteen and get some yummy, delicious treats. We ate them outside at some picnic benches, then bid farewell to the Balwyn High teachers and students who led our visit. After that we hopped on the bus and headed back to school.
It was a very fun experience and we liked getting an insight into high school life.
A special thank you to the Balwyn High teachers and students who made our visit really enjoyable.
