Pre-K Teddy Bears' Picnic

This week was our theme on Teddy Bears. We celebrated by having a teddy bears' picnic. Lots of teddy themed activities from making cute little treats for morning tea, stories, songs, dances and having a picnic outside with their favourite toys. Such fun and excitement.

Year 2 Achievements

On the last weekend of October, Grace Keir was awarded the winner of the Central West Young Archie award for her age group, Years 5-8, for her self-portrait.

Entries were judged by guest judge artist Tully Moore according to the relevance of the submitted artwork to the theme, artistic interpretation and originality of the submission.

We congratulate Grace on this amazing accomplishment.

Bathurst Goldfields Excursion

On Wednesday, 24 October, our Year 5 students took a step back in time with an educational excursion to Bathurst Goldfields, diving deep into the history of the Australian Gold Rush!

The day was packed with hands-on activities:

  •  Building mud bricks
  •  Baking traditional damper
  •  Playing popular games from the era

Students also explored the lives and challenges faced by families during the gold rush, handling the tools used by prospectors and, of course, experiencing the thrill of panning for gold! The excitement of finding those tiny gold flecks made history truly come alive.

Debating

We are so very proud of our debating team! The recent debating gala was a wonderful opportunity for our students to put their learning into action, build confidence, and receive constructive feedback from various adjudicators.

Not only did our team win a round, they also demonstrated impressive skills in argumentation and teamwork. This experience highlighted the subjective nature of judging, teaching them that different adjudicators may have varied preferences—a crucial lesson in adaptability and resilience.

Thank you for your continued support in nurturing their talents. We look forward to more successful experiences ahead!
