On Friday students in Years 9 to11 Music had the opportunity to engage in a composition workshop with Brendan Collins.
Mr Collins is currently the Chief Brass Examiner of NSW for the Australian Music Examinations Board and the Composer-in-Residence at Barker College, Sydney. He has also worked as Composer-in Residence for the Sydney Youth Orchestra. His compositions are frequently performed and recorded throughout the world by many leading international artists and his music is broadcast regularly on ABC ClassicFM.
He explored the process of composition in a hands-on manner, where several students were able to contribute to a short, collaborative piece. Students were shown HSC exemplars and given helpful tips on springboarding into their own.

4PM SUNDAY 1 DECEMBER - HOLY TRINITY CHURCH
This term our choirs and orchestra students are presenting a traditional Christmas Carol service, with free admission to the public. We are hoping that this event will provide us the opportunity to spread a bit of Christmas cheer and also to foster links with the broader Orange community. Further information has been emailed to our performers. Please come along and enjoy the Christmas Spirit!
