Final Week of Year 12s: A Farewell to Remember

As we draw the year to a close, we reflect with immense pride on the journey of our Year 12 students. Their work ethic throughout the year has been nothing short of exemplary, and most are well-prepared to face their upcoming exams with confidence. The contributions they have made to the school over the years have enriched our community in countless ways, and this final week has been a fitting celebration of their time here.

The festivities kicked off with the Old Collegians' Luncheon on Monday, a wonderful opportunity for our graduating students to connect with alumni and reflect on the shared experience of life at school. Boarders took part in the cherished walk down the Myrniong Drive, a tradition that ties past and present together. We also enjoyed a memorable Year 12 assembly and a special boarding dinner, where staff and students alike shared stories, laughter, and a few tears.

Tomorrow morning, we look forward to a celebratory BBQ breakfast with students, families, and teachers, followed by house farewells and, of course, our traditional Speech Day. Each of these events has been an opportunity to celebrate not only their achievements but also the legacy they leave behind.

The final gathering will be on Wednesday, 20 November, when the Year 12s come together one last time for the Valedictory Service and Dinner—a significant moment as they take their first steps beyond our school gates.

We will undoubtedly miss this extraordinary group of students, but they should take pride in the legacy they have left. They have truly stayed true to their motto, "Run the day, or the day will run you," and we know they will carry that spirit with them wherever they go.
