Specialist Sport
We’re excited to share some fantastic news about some events and achievements within our specialist sports program. It has been an action-packed Term full of growth, development and fun for students of all year levels. Here are some highlights:
Athlete Development Program for Year 7 & 8: Our Year 7 and 8 students have shown incredible commitment to their athletic journey through our Athlete Development Program. The program is designed to enhance both their physical and mental capabilities, giving them the foundation needed to excel in sports and build life-long skills. Through strength, conditioning and sport-specific training, these young athletes have been working hard to improve their performance, teamwork and resilience.
A standout moment for these students was their visit to the Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS), where they experienced first-hand the environment elite athletes train in. This trip not only inspired a sense of Pride in being part of our sports program but also instilled Respect for the dedication and commitment required to reach the highest levels in sport. We are thrilled with their progress and can’t wait to see them shine in the years ahead!
Community Primary School Days – VET Students Take the Lead: Our Year 10 VET students had the opportunity to step up and officiate sports events for local primary schools during our Community Primary School Days. This experience gave them valuable insight into the world of sports management and officiating, helping them develop leadership skills, confidence and a sense of Responsibility. The primary school students enjoyed a fun, well-organized day of sports, thanks to our students’ dedication and professionalism. A huge thank you to our VET students for their hard work and positive attitudes!
Year 10 Specialist Training Camp – Gold Coast: Our Year 10 students embarked on a specialised sports camp on the Gold Coast earlier last month. The camp offered them an intense and focused environment to hone their skills, train with elite coaches and push their physical and mental limits. The students not only developed their sporting abilities but also bonded as a team and learned the value of perseverance, discipline and setting high goals. They’ve returned more motivated than ever and are eager to implement the new techniques and strategies they gained during the camp.
We are incredibly proud of the achievements across all year levels and excited for what’s to come. Our program continues to build future champions, not only in sport but also in life.
Stay tuned for more updates and events in the coming months!
