Mathematics: Explore money at home – can you count the amount of money you have in your money box or wallet?  

 

Reading: Aim to read 15 minutes at home per night.  

 

Inquiry: What changes have occurred in your local community recently- think any roadworks, or new parks or outdoor spaces? Create a list of physical changes to your local community environment.

Learning this week:  

Writer’s Workshop: We have started this term exploring Information Texts. We are currently creating our books based on our own choice of an expert topic while we learn about the structure and features of Information Texts. We will then choose a material to research and then present facts to the class in the form of an oral presentation.  

 

Mathematics: We will begin exploring money this week and spend some time revisiting the number strand including looking at: place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.  

 

Unit of Inquiry: We will begin our final unit of inquiry this week: How We Organise Ourselves with a focus on ‘Changing Communities’.  

 

Announcements:  

Year 2 Camp - is at AFL Max, West Beach, from Tuesday 19th November until Wednesday 20th November. Consent Forms should have been received during week 1. 

Please communicate with your child’s teacher if you have any questions about the Camp.  

Our Parent Volunteers for Camp are: Shaun Horspool (Jasper, 2/3T), April Demery (Harper 2/3T), Rebecca Andary (Aria 1/2AK) & Paul Rushton (Jack 1/2Z).  

Please return the school consent form and updated AFL Max waiver to school by Friday October 25th, Term 4, Week 2.  

 

Swimming Week – This year 2/3T will be attending Swimming Week as a class in Week 4, along with the other year 3/4 classes. Please return the consent forms for Swimming by Friday Week 2.The dates for this is: Monday 4th November – Thursday 7th November.  

 

Pupil Free Day – Term 4- Please note that Friday Week 5 (15th November) is a Pupil Free Day.  

 

Carols Evening – The annual schools carols evening is slated for Friday Week 7 (29th November). Please save the date, with more information to come.
