Foundation
In Foundation this term, students have been singing the Changing Populations song. They have been exploring long and short sounds on an instrument as well as recognising what a long and short sound looks like as music notation. Students have continued learning how to hold and play the ukulele, practising the C and F chord.
Year 1 and 2
In Year 1 and 2 this term, students have been singing and playing the Changing Populations song. They have been listening to different kinds of music with varying sounds, long, short, fast and slow. Students have continued learning how to hold and play the ukulele practising the C, G, F chords. They have clapped and sung a variety of different rhythmic patterns using their voice and the instruments.
Year 3 and 4
In Year 3 and 4 this term, students have been listening to different kinds of music with varying tempos such as slow, medium and fast pieces. They have been experimenting with ways of singing and playing the instruments using different dynamics and tempos. Students have been listening to pieces that have different dynamics such as soft, loud and very loud. They have continued learning how to hold and play the ukulele practising the C, G, F chords.
Year 5 and 6
In Year 5 and 6 this term, students composed a specialist Olympics song by making up their own words, melody and rhythm. Students played and sang their own music composition on an instrument or an online music program. They continued learning how to hold and play the ukulele practising the C, G, F and Am chords. Students have been singing and playing on the ukulele the Changing Populations song as well as a variety of other songs.
Beginner Ukulele
In Beginner Ukulele students continued to learn how to master the C, G and F chords as well as singing Australian songs.
Expert Ukulele
Expert ukulele has been learning how to master plucking the ukulele strings and learning an Australian song.
School Band
The School Band has been practising an Australian song and is looking forward to performing the piece at the end of the term.
