Year 2 Literacy

Reading 

In Reading students have been developing their comprehension of texts by making connections. This involves making connections from a text to themselves, from one text to another text, or making connections from a text to what they know about the world. 

Writing

In Writing, we have been exploring Persuasive texts. Students have been brainstorming ideas of what they could convince someone to do, ranging from getting a new pet to having longer break times. Students have been learning persuasive techniques to support their ideas and reasons, including using rhetorical questions and emotive language to get others to agree with their opinion. It has been fantastic to see students passionate about their writing and coming up with ways to persuade others.
