Yakai Barring Planting Day
On Saturday, Yakai Barring was shimmering from the oceans of love and care, with the sun shining on the many superstars who joined in planting 500 plants! Wow!!!
A very heartfelt thank you to the following people:
- Audrie for helping coordinate purchase of tubestocks & planting day- Danni for spreading the word- all the Friends of Yakai Barring - helping prepare for the event, spread the word, & planting day
- Merri-Bek city council (for plant guards, extra tubestocks, stakes)- friends and family who sponsored tubestocks with your tributes. We got 775 tributes! And raised $1550!- and all the many people who showed up on Saturday to help plant!
Finally the biggest thanks to the amazing Jo Keeble who dreamed up, planned and coordinated the whole event alongside the legendary Ian - helping organise the event, preparing the site, selecting the beautiful new plants & helping collect them, coordinating on the day, general awesomeness!
Yakai Barring is enjoying the attention after years of haphazard care and we are on the path to reinvigorating the more-than-human community in the lead up to Yakai Barring’s 10th birthday celebrations later this year!
