FAQs

1. Who can I speak to if I have concerns about my child’s learning or well-being?

Your first point of contact is always your child’s classroom teacher. They can discuss concerns and, if needed, involve our Learning Adjustment or Wellbeing teams.

2. How do I arrange a meeting with my child’s teacher?

You can contact the teacher directly via email or call the school office to organize a suitable meeting time before or after school.

3. What if my child needs further learning support?

Our school provides adjustments through Student Adjustment Evaluation Plans (SAEPs) and Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs), small-group support, and regular progress monitoring. The Learning Adjustment Team can work with you to identify appropriate supports.

4. How does the school support student well-being?

We teach explicit lessons on emotional regulation, trusted adults, body safety, consent, friendships, and positive behaviour. We provide a platform for a morning check in every morning that is checked by a teacher and actioned as required. This is an opportunity for our students to let us know how they are feeling and what they might need to support their wellbeing.

5. What should I do if my child is experiencing difficulties in social interactions with peers?

Please contact the classroom teacher early. We can observe interactions both in the classroom and playground settings, support peer relationships and teach strategies students can use during play and learning times.

6. How can I support learning at home?

Families can:

  • read daily with their child (the take-home reading sheet and decodable books)
  • use positive routines and calm spaces
  • encourage independence with organisation. Teachers can provide extra resources if needed.

7. What if my family needs help accessing community or specialist services?

Let us know—our team can help connect you with paediatricians, provide information about speech pathology, psychology, NDIS supports, and allied healthcare services.

8. Who do I contact about attendance or morning routine difficulties?

Your classroom teacher and our Wellbeing Team can support you with routines, transitions, and building independence for smoother transitions between home and school.

9. What should my child do if they feel unsafe or unsure at school?

Students are taught to identify five trusted adults and to check in with them. They also learn how to seek help in any moment of distress.

10. How can I stay informed about school policies and expectations?

Information is shared through newsletters, PAM accounts, the school website, and direct communication with teachers.
