Library News

The cooler weather so far this term has attracted many students into the warmth and sanctuary of our library.
As part of the library wider reading program, Year 7 and 8 students have been working towards successfully completing the Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge (VPRC) in their English classes. The VPRC encourages students in Years 7 to 10 to read at least 15 books over the year and to record their efforts online. Our school is a proud VPRC school, and we actively encourage all Year 7 and 8 students and other keen readers to participate in the challenge.
The challenge closes this year on Friday September 5th so there is only a short amount of time to complete the VPRC. Please contact one of the library team if you would like more information on the reading challenge.
So far this term the library team have celebrated the International Day of Friendship with a book display, lunchtime Kahoot and a fun friendship bracelet making craft activity. Likewise, we ran a popular Kahoot during Bullying No Way Week along with a window display and selection of novels depicting the importance of promoting bullying prevention in schools and the wider community.
During Week 4, the library once again played host to our talented VCE music students performing their pieces for the upcoming music exams. It was wonderful to see the library packed with supportive staff and students enjoying this lunchtime concert and to see the depth of talent and ability our senior music students display.
The library team are looking forward to celebrating Book Week in Week 5. The theme for the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book Week this year is Book an Adventure! and we have many fun competitions, activities and displays ready to go for this week. We also look forward to running later in the term activities and displays for Wear it Purple Day and Are you Okay Day.
We hope you enjoy scrolling through photos from our recent library events.
