Overall Winner: Emmaus Christian College – To God be the Glory!
Well done to all our athletes! This week was not just about medals, but about faith, fellowship, and finishing strong. Here’s to a legacy of honouring God through sport, and to many more victories in the years to come.
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord…” – Colossians 3:23 (NIV)
In a week filled with fierce competition, unwavering spirit, and God-honouring camaraderie, Emmaus Christian College emerged victorious in the 2025 Rijken Cup (our first-ever win in this prestigious interschool sports week!).
With Year 11 and 12 students from Christian schools across South Australia converging for a week of sports, Rijken Cup provides one dedicated opportunity each year for students to step outside the classroom and into a high-energy arena of teamwork, discipline, and school pride.
Despite going up against larger schools with access to multiple ovals and full gym facilities, our students stood tall, giving their all in every match. They showed what Emmaus is all about (resilience, unity, and heart). From the first whistle to the last point, our teams demonstrated skill and an incredible culture of support and encouragement that made us proud to be Emmaus.
Across six sports and five days, students brought home a wave of medals and milestones. Most importantly, they competed with honour and Christ-like character. A special thank you to our dedicated PE staff, who ran early morning and lunchtime trainings, encouraged our players, and guided them through this exciting journey.
