Child Safeguarding

🛡️ Child Safeguarding: Our Commitment to Every Child’s Safety
At Our Lady's, the safety and well-being of every child is our highest priority. We believe that all children have the right to feel safe, valued, and respected - both in and out of the classroom.
What is Child Safeguarding?
Child safeguarding means protecting children from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and harm. It also involves creating an environment where children feel secure, supported, and empowered to speak up if something doesn’t feel right.
Our Safeguarding Practices
We are committed to maintaining a strong safeguarding culture through:
- Trained Staff: All staff receive regular training on child protection and how to respond to concerns.
- Clear Policies: Our safeguarding policy outlines procedures for identifying and reporting concerns.
- Safe Environment: We ensure that our school grounds, classrooms, and online spaces are safe and inclusive.
- Listening to Children: We encourage open communication and teach children how to recognize and report unsafe situations.
How Parents Can Help
- Talk to your child regularly about their day and how they feel.
- Encourage them to speak to a trusted adult if something worries them.
- Familiarise yourself with our school’s safeguarding policy, available on our website or at the front office.
Working Together
Safeguarding is a shared responsibility. By working together - staff, parents, and the wider community - we can ensure that every child at Our Lady's grows up safe, happy, and ready to thrive.
