Principal's Message

Dear Families,

Welcome to another exciting edition of our newsletter. On Tuesday the 17th of June, we begin the next chapter in our Magnify Sandhurst Journey! At Our Lady's Primary School, we believe that calm, predictable classrooms are the foundation for effective learning and are looking forward to learning all about Classroom Mastery with Knowledge Society.

On this day, our staff will engage deeply with evidence-informed behaviour routines that support safe, focused, and thriving classroom environments. We’re looking forward to the positive impact this work will have - stronger student engagement, reduced cognitive load for staff, and classrooms where every student feels confident, clear, and connected. Stay tuned for the next edition of our newsletter or keep an eye on our socials for the next steps in our exciting journey.

Lunch Orders - Thursday

Due to our whole school excursion, lunch orders will not be available on Thursday.

Entry into School

In order to ensure we are keeping our students as safe as possible, we have been reviewing the process of how we use our front door to the school. From now on, our front door will be locked from 9:10am - 2:45pm each day. When the office is unattended, please ring the doorbell and someone will assist you.

We are adding this extra safety measure to ensure all visitors report to our office on arrival. Sometimes, our office is unattended, so this additional safety measure means we are keeping our school safe.

  • Front door is locked 9.10am - 2.45pm
  • If the office is unattended, call (03) 5721 3783
  • Late/early departures need to be signed in/out by an adult.

We will monitor this process moving forward and review to see if it is effective.

Parking Reminder - White Street

Just a reminder for our parent/s & carer/s who are picking up children at White Street. We have been made aware that sometimes our parents are blocking the driveways of the residents. Please ensure you are parking respectfully to ensure no impact occurs to our neighbours. If you are turning in off Murdoch Road, please avoid using a personal residence driveway to turn around or park in. Children crossing at White Street need to be accompanied by an adult.

Advisory School Council

Our Lady's is seeking to re-establish our Advisory School Council. The Advisory Council serves as a consultative and advisory group for the Principal in order to inform and gain feedback from the broader school community. Members of the Advisory Council;

  • actively support, in collaboration with the local parish, the Vison and Catholic Identity of our school
  • provide parental and local community input into strategic planning, school improvement, child safeguarding practices and school review
  • support the Principal in meeting their accountabilities for educational outcomes, effective stewardship of resources and annual reporting
  • actively support the Principal in the encouragement of parent/carer engagement
  • provide a means by which the CESL Executive (and thereby the CESL Board) can dialogue with and hear from school community members

Nominations are currently being invited from the community. Nominations (which can be self-nominations) should be in writing and delivered to myself directly. This can be done via email.

Blessings,

Cassie
