Principal's Report

Dear Parents,

Our community was filled with joy and gratitude as we celebrated a very special milestone in the faith journey of many of our students – the Sacrament of First Eucharist. Over the past weeks, our candidates have been preparing with hearts full of anticipation to receive Jesus in the Eucharist for the very first time.

This sacred occasion marked an important step in their spiritual lives, and we are incredibly proud of their commitment, reverence, and understanding of the deep significance of this sacrament. Through prayer, learning, and reflection, these students have come to know more deeply the love of Christ and the gift of His presence in the Eucharist.

We would like to thank our teachers, parish team, and families who have supported the children throughout their preparation. Your guidance and example have helped lay the foundation for a lifetime of faith.

It was a pleasure to celebrate this special occasion with the students. Congratulations to all our First Communicants and their families!

School Advisory Expression of Interest

We are calling for expressions of interest to join our School Advisory Council (SAC).

The School Advisory Council provides a forum for discussion and discernment, where parent voice and community perspective are available to inform and support the decisions made by the principal and parish priest as the custodian of mission for the good of school and parish where students’ wellbeing and outcomes are paramount.

If you would be interested in joining the SAC please email principal@leonardsgwav.catholic.edu.au

nForma Portal

In response to the feedback provided by our community during the school review it was clear that there was a need to condense our communication platforms where appropriate. We are excited to inform you that by the end of this year we will be moving across to the nForma Parent Portal for all communications, newsletters, attendance and reports.

 I kindly ask that you:

1/ download the nForma app or log into nForma by the 9th June

2/ begin to transfer all your family’s information (medical, contact details, etc.)

Attached is a Parent Portal Guide that will provide steps in downloading and accessing the nForma Portal. If you downloaded the nForma App last December to access the reports, the only thing you need to do, if you have not logged in this year, is to check that you can still access the Portal.

Please also note that all reports will be digital this year. You will need to access and download your child's report from the Portal.

Mathematics Reports

As the achievement standards reported on Mathematics have changed, the first time you receive a report under the Mathematics Version 2.0 curriculum, it will only show achievement and not progress. For all reports after this, progress will be shown against the single achievement standard.

On your child’s previous report, the teacher reported against the three strands of the achievement standard for Mathematics (Number and Algebra, Measurement and Geometry, and Statistics and Probability). Under the Mathematics Version 2.0 curriculum, your child’s teacher will report against the achievement standard as a whole, providing a single, aggregated score.
