News from Mrs Connors, Mr Gray and Mrs Whelan

ART WORK
Our main corridors have lots of art works displayed at the moment. These creative and colourful pieces of art work were admired by many that visited for Education Week Open Day. We invite families to take the time to enjoy them next time they are at school.
ROCHESTER MURAL COMPETITION 2025
Well our Locky students won just about every primary aged award this year! Fabulous work!! The following students were the winners:
Asher Patterson, Logan Chadwick, Max Pelly, Sienna Chadwick and Lily McDougall.
REGIONAL CROSS COUNTRY
Well done to Hayden K and Harvey C who competed at the Regional Cross Country event in St Arnaud this week. Both boys did a great job and should be proud of their efforts and achievements.
INDONESIAN DAY
Next Tuesday 3rd of June is Indonesian day. Throughout the day, students will learn to play Indonesian instruments and perform dance routines with Aaron and Nita. To showcase our wonderful new skills, we'd love for families and parents to join us in the BER from 2.20pm to watch students perform a special Indonesian play. Hope to see you there!
INDONESIAN PENPALS
Last year, students in Grades 3-6 wrote letters to students in Bali, Indonesia.
Last week, they received replies.
Lots of interesting things to read and learn about life in Bali, like travelling to school on a motor bike, starting school at 7am, eating fried rice for breakfast and what the dish “suckling pig” actually is.
The Balinese students study English two nights per week with their teacher Anik, who has a small classroom above her home in Denpasar, Bali. Anik teaches over 100 students per week and runs this as part of “The Millennial English Club”.
Anik and her students are very grateful to have some new Australian friends to practise their English with, and also learn about Australian culture. We are also very grateful for our new penpals 🙏
