International Week

Amidst our school's calendar, International Week is a dazzling highlight, a time when the world comes alive right on our campus. This year's event was an absolute blast, packed with cultural adventures that had everyone—students, teachers, and staff—brimming with excitement.

The week started with a bang! A mesmerising Japanese taiko drum performance stole the show. Dressed in traditional attire, the performers' rhythmic beats echoed through the school, captivating us all. Students sat spellbound, some even unconsciously tapping their feet, completely immersed in the spectacle.

All week long, the school hallways were filled with the melodies of the world. The school radio became a global jukebox, playing tunes from every corner of the earth. We'd stop in the corridors, close our eyes, and let the music carry us to far-off lands.

The Chinese snack day was a huge hit. The library turned into a foodie's paradise, loaded with treats like sweet mooncakes and crispy spring rolls. Students dove in, trying new flavours with gusto. Laughter and chatter filled the air as we shared our favourites.

We also got creative with Chinese arts and crafts. In the classroom, students learned to fold dragon boat origami. As the little paper boats took shape, faces lit up with pride. And the bracelet-making activity was a hit too. Using beads and charms inspired by different cultures, we crafted unique bracelets, each a symbol of our global connection.

The school library transformed into a lively gaming arena for Chinese chess and mahjong. Even though these games were new to many, the allure of learning something different was irresistible. Shouts of victory and good-natured groans filled the air as we strategised and played.

International Week wasn't just a series of events—it was a vibrant celebration of diversity. It pushed us out of our comfort zones and let us embrace the new. Thanks to the hard work of our SRC, this amazing week not only brought the world to our school but also brought our school community closer together, leaving us with memories to cherish and a deeper love for global cultures.
