Building Works

We are pleased to share that construction has officially commenced on our new school building, marking an exciting step forward in the College’s development. The building company has begun the groundwork, and site preparation is now well underway.

This week, excavation began for the new sewage and grey water system, an essential part of the infrastructure that will support the new facilities. Over the coming weeks, you will notice increased activity around the construction site as foundational work continues.

This new building will provide state-of-the-art learning spaces for our Year 7 students and support our commitment to delivering high-quality education in a contemporary environment.

We thank our community for your patience during the construction phase and will continue to provide updates as the project progresses.

Bikes and Scooters

This is a timely reminder that 𝗡𝗢 𝗕𝗜𝗞𝗘𝗦 𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗦 are to be ridden on school grounds.

It is very unsafe to do so, and there have been a few near misses recently between bikes/scooters and pedestrians.

We kindly ask that students please walk their bikes and scooters through the school grounds.

Preparing for Exam Success

As we enter the exam period, it’s timely to reflect on the importance of preparation, balance, and support during a demanding time for students, families, and staff.

Exams offer students an opportunity to consolidate their learning, develop resilience, and demonstrate the growth they have achieved throughout the semester. While they are only one measure of progress, they remain an essential milestone in each student’s academic journey.

Effective exam preparation doesn’t begin the week before — it results from consistent effort over time. We encourage all students to establish a structured study routine, seek clarification from teachers early, and make use of revision materials and study guides. Students should also take advantage of support sessions offered by staff and attend any additional revision or exam skills workshops that may be available.

Maintaining a healthy balance between study and wellbeing is crucial. Adequate sleep, regular exercise, and time to relax with family and friends help improve focus and reduce stress. Parents can support their children by encouraging good habits, providing a calm and supportive home environment, and helping students plan manageable study schedules.

On the day of exams, students should arrive early, equipped with the necessary materials and a calm mindset. Eating a nutritious breakfast and having a bottle of water on hand can make a real difference. Students are also reminded to check their exam timetable carefully and ensure they know the rules and expectations around academic integrity.

Whether it’s a Year 10 student experiencing their first formal assessments or a Year 11 student preparing for their VCE exams, this period is a chance to develop essential life skills: time management, perseverance, and the ability to perform under pressure. These experiences contribute significantly to a student’s personal and academic growth.

Finally, I’d like to thank our teaching and support staff for their continued dedication in guiding students through this critical phase, and to families for the encouragement and care they provide at home.

We wish all our students the very best for the upcoming exams. Stay focused, stay positive, and remember — success is built on effort, not just outcomes.

Winter Uniform Reminder

As the colder months set in, a reminder to all families that students are expected to wear the correct winter uniform. While we understand the desire to stay warm, hoodies are not part of the approved school uniform and should not be worn to or from school.

Students are encouraged to wear the school Polar Fleece Jacket or Softshell Jacket as needed. If additional warmth is required, plain layers may be worn under the uniform, provided they are not visible.

We appreciate your support in maintaining high standards of presentation and pride in our college.

Staff Changes

At the end of Term 2, we will farewell Trent McIntyre, who has served the College with great dedication and care in his role as Director of Senior School over the past two and a half years.

In a recent conversation, Trent reflected that from the beginning, his goal was to make a positive impact on students. He has always believed that the most meaningful difference comes from building genuine relationships and responding to the individual needs of each student.

Trent’s thoughtful, student-centred leadership has helped shape a Senior School culture where every student feels supported and encouraged to achieve their personal best.

On behalf of the entire College community, I extend my sincere thanks to Trent for his significant contribution and wish him every success as he takes the next step in his professional journey.
