SEL

This term, students in 5/6 looked at positive coping strategies and looked at positive and negative self talk. Students investigated problem solving strategies that can help them at school and at home. They also looked at ways to manage stress. 

Geography

We are Geographers in Grade 5/6!

We have been investigating human and environmental impacts on the environment. Students have been learning about Australia’s neighbours, natural disasters and climate change. A few weeks ago students created a poster inviting tourists to an uncharted imaginary island. Check these amazing posters out! 

They also designed a t-shirt that focused on an environmental issue. Some of these could be sold in stores!

Incursion Fun!

On Monday the 16th of June, we have an incursion from the Victorian Schools Garden program. Students will learn how to start a garden. They will learn about a method of growing – from seed, from cutting and from root stock. To finish off, each student will make a wicking pot, which they will plant with some seeds to watch as it grows.
