Playgroup excursion

On May 29th, our Tuesday and Wednesday VICSEG playgroups had the exciting opportunity to visit the Melbourne Museum. As part of our Hub programs, excursions like this one offer families and children a meaningful way to learn, connect, and explore in a fun, hands-on environment.

The Melbourne Museum provided a vibrant setting for discovery, bringing history, science, and culture to life through its interactive exhibits.

Experiences like these inspire curiosity and make learning both enjoyable and unforgettable for everyone involved.

Community Garden

Our community garden fosters a strong sense of connection and shared responsibility for participants. It brings together people of different backgrounds, ages, and experiences to work toward a common goal—growing fresh, healthy food and creating a green space for all to enjoy whilst having some fun and sharing a meal of their harvest. Photos of the delicious olives and a salad prepared fresh from the garden. If you would like to join in the fun our group meets every Thursday from 9.30am to 12.00pm and is facilitated by horticulturist Elissa from Dallas Neighbourhood House, hope to welcome you in the garden soon.

Community Hubs Australia

Community hubs are embedded in primary schools and connect families from diverse cultural backgrounds with the wider community. They connect women and their young children with each other and their school through a variety of activities and with organisations that can provide health, education and settlement support.

Community Hubs Australia recently held their conference, bringing together 162 hub leaders from across the country. It was a valuable opportunity for leaders to connect, learn, and share insights. The ideas and experiences exchanged will help strengthen our efforts to connect families through our Hubs.

MPS Community Hub timetable

We’re excited to welcome you to our Hub—a space designed to connect families with each other, with the school and kindergarten, and with local support services and community networks.

You're invited to drop in for a coffee or tea and a friendly chat! Melissa is available Monday to Friday, and Gonul—who also speaks Arabic and Turkish—is available on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.

We’d love to hear from you! If you have any suggestions, ideas for future programs, or events you'd like to participate in at the Hub, please don’t hesitate to share.
