Meet the Captains

Liturgy Captain - Clyde North Campus
What do you see as your role as a student leader?
The role of a student leader to me, specifically as Liturgy Captain, involves carrying out the will of the Lord within the College and the greater school community. It's not merely about leading others to a greater success but working alongside them in faith, courage and love to grow closer to the plans the Lord has for us as a College in 2025. This year, I hope to further unite all students at St Peter’s College, creating a community where we foster to each other's weaknesses and struggles as much as our strengths and successes, walking humbly with our God throughout all seasons of our school year.
What is one of the positives about being a student at St Peter's College?
One positive thing about being a student here at St Peter’s College, is the ample opportunities provided to us in regards to our education. Our College offers a variety of subjects that we as students embark in, assisting us in the pursuit of our desired career paths upon the completion of our secondary education. This year, I chose to study English Literature, General Mathematics, Religion and Society units 1 &2, Legal studies, Health and Human Development and Business Management. As I value these subjects, I thoroughly enjoy attending my classes and learning all the content my respective subjects have to offer. I appreciate the opportunities this College brings to further my intellectual capacity.
What are your goals as College captain in 2025?
My main goal for this year is to move away from the idea of sole religion and move forward into the idea of a deeper relationship with Christ, ourselves and each other. I want for all students to recognise that whilst scripture, commandments, doctrines and guidelines all play a vital role in the way we celebrate liturgy at our school, it's through our day-to-day actions and words that we can represent Christ more in our society today. I want St Peter’s College to go deeper in the pillar of service this year, as we incorporate the scriptures and teachings we learn from the Bible, in the interactions we have with our teachers, friends and peers. I also aim to boost the festivities regarding liturgy at our College; celebrating the liveliness of our beliefs, making it fun and engaging to all.
Our College theme in 2025 is "Be the reason for hope" 1 Peter 3:15 - How will you live this statement through your leadership role?
One thing that I would love to implement under my leadership is the awareness of mental and spiritual wellbeing from a liturgical perspective. There is often a stigma within the Christian community that following Christ subtly equates to the loss of struggles within everyday life, whether it be physically, mentally, spiritually emotionally and socially. In the year of 2025 I hope to eradicate this misconception, helping the broader school community address issues within our walks of faith that may be widely regarded as taboo to many. I hope that in the sharing of each other's challenges, we can all embrace the 2025 annual theme and be the reason for hope for one another.

What do you see as your role as a student leader?
As a student leader at St. Peter’s I see my role to be someone that encourages each student to ‘be the reason for hope’ as Jesus Christ is for all of us. Through this role I strive to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to all people that I meet, through my words and actions.
What is one of the positives about being a student at St Peter's College?
A positive about being a student at St. Peter’s College is the abundance of opportunities I have been presented with. Opportunities that have helped me develop my confidence, my leadership skills and overall help me develop as a person. The opportunities presented to me at St. Peter’s have also helped me to extend myself within my education and put my best foot forward to every challenge that comes my way.
What are your goals as College captain in 2025?
My goal as Liturgy Captain in 2025 is to provide opportunities for students to grow in their faith and grow closer to the Lord. Through various bible studies currently for year 12s, monthly rosary in the chapel beginning in the May (the month of Mother Mary) and a communal prayer group hopefully beginning in the near future. These are all aimed at allowing the College community to expand and strengthen their relationship with the God who loves us all.
Our College theme in 2025 is "Be the reason for hope" 1 Peter 3:15 - How will you live this statement through your leadership role?
As Jesus is the hope of the world, through my leadership I will strive to be an advocate for creating hope for all who feel hopeless. I will do this through the way I treat all members of the College community. I hope to spread kindness and respect, and speak with hope in all that I say. I will aim to be someone whom the community can approach in times of need to help them in any way I can.
