This Week At OOPS

Year 6 Camp

In 2MB we are just starting to learn about the writing process. We were making a fishbowl around our class writing process poster and talking about what happens during ‘pre-writing’. The students then sat back together on the floor and began to work on a plan for a recount. We are very excited to be working on our first piece of writing that we will take through the whole writing process.

The Preps enjoyed our discovery sessions this week. They selected from a range of activities at our English, Maths, fine motor, collage, dramatic play and construction stations. Some of the stations were based on the mentor text have been reading this week, ‘The Colour Monster’. This text has been a fun book to explore emotions and the Zones of Regulation.

One of our wonderful grandparent helpers did an incredible job weeding and clearing our outdoor learning area on Wednesday.

Thank you so much Lynne, what a difference you made!

The Year Ones have enjoyed learning how to read Tricky Words by playing lots of fun games, like Beat the Champ! They are so good at reading that the tiger is getting hungry!
