Leadership @ MPS

School Council News
We are excited to announce the appointment of four new members to our School Council: Andrew Thickins, Caitlin Morrison, Paul Cammack and Jess Manovella. Their fresh perspectives and enthusiasm will undoubtedly bring valuable contributions to our team, and we look forward to the positive impact they will have on our school community.
At the same time, it is with mixed emotions that we bid farewell to Cath Healy and Nicole MacDonald. Both have been incredibly dedicated and invaluable members of our council, and their hard work and commitment will be greatly missed. Their contributions have played a significant role in our success, and we are all truly grateful for their time and efforts. We will have the opportunity to formally thank them at our next meeting.
Thank you all for your continued support.
New Website
We are very excited to share that our Montmorency Primary School website has been updated! The fresh new design makes it easier than ever to find key information about our school, including enrolment details, news, upcoming events and insights into our specialist programs. Whether you're a current family or considering joining our community, we encourage you to explore the site and see what’s happening at MPS. You can check it out here.
New House Tops
In case you missed the Newsfeed from Monday, our new house tops are now able to be ordered from Spartan. All of the relevant information can be found at the attachment below.
These new tops can be worn each Friday, the day that your child's class has PE as well as our carnival days. We can't wait to see the new designs and colours across the school! A remind that your School Saving Bonus can be used to order these, why not get a couple to last the primary years?!
Colur Run Wrap Up
Again, we want to thank our entire school community for their support of our Fun Run this year. It was the most successful one in recent memory and just so much fun! Please see below for the latest information.
Wow, what a blast Friday afternoon was! 🎉 We had amazing weather, some very happy and colourful students 🌈 and fantastic support from our families. Thank you all for making it such a special event! There are more photos coming on Socials soon 📸 — keep an eye out for those.
After the Fun Run company takes their cut and we tie up a few loose ends, the school will end up with over $20,000 to put towards our solar upgrade ☀️. This is a massive result, and over twice what was made at last year's event. Thanks again to everyone for making this possible!
Here are two important dates to keep in mind:
🗓️ Monday, 10th of March
This is when the prize portal will open on students' Fun Run accounts. Don't forget to log in and start choosing prizes! 🎁
🗓️ Monday, 17th of March
This is when the prize portal will close. No choices or changes can be made after this date 🚫.
Fundraising is still open until Friday, 17th of March — though we know you might be all fundraised out! 😅 Any extra donations will still help boost our total. If there are any last-minute contributions hanging around at home, be sure to upload them!
Check out these amazing stats from our community's efforts:
💰 Gross amount received: $34,000+
🎯 62% of students actively fundraised
💵 Average amount raised per student: $132
👏 872 donations received so far
🚀 MPS raised 172% of the company's national average!
There's still work to be done by School Council to make the solar upgrade a reality, but this event has made a huge impact.
Early Morning Arrivals
A reminder to families that yard supervision begins at 8:45am each morning. We kindly ask that students do not arrive before this time unless they are accompanied and supervised by a parent or carer, as staff are not on duty prior to 8:45am. We understand that mornings can be busy, but for the safety and wellbeing of all students, we encourage families to plan for arrival after supervision begins. Thank you for your support in helping us keep our school community safe.
Have a fabulous long weekend.
