Harmony Day / Grandparents and Special Persons day
It was wonderful to welcome grandparents and special friends to visit the children at school for Harmony Day. We had a great turnout and everyone enjoyed the afternoon immensely!
A note from Cheryl
Some of our students have recently been discussing the importance of kindness during our Monday activity group.
I have also had the pleasure of collating the information from our recent student well-being surveys, which have shown that almost all of the students at Uraidla Primary School have shown kindness or been helpful to other student/students at least once this term already! Some more than five times!
This is so great to see and every act of kindness makes a difference.
A huge 'well-done' to the students at Uraidla Primary School!

Easter raffle-
Easter is on its way again and the Parents and Friends are doing their famous annual Easter raffle!
You can help in two ways.
1. We are asking for donations for prizes to be dropped to the front office. These can be Easter items to go in baskets or other items suitable for a raffle but no alcohol please. Last year thanks to your generosity we were able to have three large gift baskets as the main prizes and another 20 smaller prizes.
2. Sell/buy raffle tickets. Books of 10 tickets will be sent home with students next week. All books sold or unsold must be returned by Monday 7th April. If you would like more tickets to sell or buy yourself, you can request them from the front office.
Prizes will be drawn at the end-of-term Assembly on Friday 11th April.
Year 5/6 Cricket
We started at 9.30. I was captain and we decided to bat first on the town oval. We were all out for 105 with Benno top scoring with 21. We had good contribution from the whole team. Benno contributed by taking two wickets and Ashton got one. Eloise took a catch from Harrison's bowling, and we got a heap of run outs. We bowled 4 wides and 16 no balls. We got through all our overs when they were on 9 for 58. We are playing in the next round probably this week or the next. If we win that one, we will play our next game in October and if we win that one, we will play in November. If we win THAT one, we play in the grand final and if we win that we win everything and will probably get a TROPHY. Our team of 13 players were – Callum, Innes, Arlo, Ashton, Benno, Edward, Harry, Harrison, Jobe, Ellie, Eloise, Louie and Xavier. Brad Wilksch was our coach, Aaron Carter was our scorer and we had lots of parents to support us. Thank you everyone. - Callum Wilksch
Uraidla Primary Facebook Group
If you haven’t already heard about it, there is a FaceBook group for UPS families and we welcome everyone to join (parents/grandparents/carers all welcome). Look for “Uraidla Primary School Families” and answer the 3 simple questions on your connection to the school. This group is a friendly way to find the answers for those questions you may have (e.g. when your child tells you at the last minute its casual day tomorrow, and you can’t remember hearing about it from school!), to get reminders on events coming up, find your lost property!, or a way to connect with other families.
It is not run by the school but is supported by the UPS Governing Council and admin (Jodi Braley) will post information regularly. It is designed to be a group with input from all – so contribute in any way you want to. If you do have a question that you don’t want to post yourself, feel free to forward to Jodi (either by facebook message, email jodi.braley@hotmail.com, or in person at school), who is more than happy to help.
Chess
Did you know that each Thursday during the second lunch playtime there is a Chess Club? Chess is a great game and brings many benefits to children, including
* critical thinking
* concentration
* challenge
* enjoyment
* decision making skills
New players are welcome each week, meeting in Stephen’s class♟️
Enrolment in Reception
If you have a child turning 5 in the next 12 months, they should have already enrolled to start school. Children either start school at the start of the year or in July, depending on their age.
Our school has now reached capacity, which means that we give priority enrolment to children in our catchment area. Please note that younger siblings of existing students are guaranteed enrolment.
If you are speaking to other families about enrolling in school, they can find their local school through the Find My School website: Find a school zone or preschool catchment area (education.sa.gov.au)
Enrolments for mid entry 2025 should already be finalised. With enrolments for start of 2026 due by the end of term 2. Please contact the front office for a registration of interest form today!
If you are still unsure or interested in booking a school tour please contact the office on 8390 3209 and book into one of the below time slots.
