Create Your Country by MMR

In a dynamic and engaging classroom activity, MMR worked collaboratively in small groups to design their own country, exploring the principles of democracy and teamwork. Students began by naming their country and drawing a map, including key landmarks. They then established a government, electing leaders such as a Prime Minister, a Mayor, and Heads of Environment and Fun. Through discussion and voting, they determined their country's system of governance, created three important laws providing reasoning, and tackled a national issue, such as choosing a national symbol or designing a new park. Throughout the process, students practiced decision-making, negotiation, and compromise, experiencing firsthand the challenges and rewards of working democratically. The activity concluded with reflections on their experience and the design of a national flag, celebrating their collective creativity and cooperation.
