Principal's Message

Welcome to Week 6 – Leongatha Primary School

I hope that everyone enjoyed the recent long weekend and has returned to school feeling refreshed and ready for another exciting week of learning at Leongatha Primary School.

A key focus this week will be NAPLAN, which begins on Wednesday for our students in Years 3 and 5. NAPLAN provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate the skills they have been developing in literacy and numeracy. While it offers useful information about student progress, it is also an opportunity to reinforce some important life lessons for our students: doing your best, approaching challenges with confidence, and understanding that growth comes through effort and persistence. We are incredibly proud of the way our students approach their learning every day, and we encourage them to simply try their best and take pride in their efforts.

On Thursday, a number of our students will travel to Sale to represent our school at the Regional Swimming Championships. Competing at this level is a wonderful achievement, and we wish all of our swimmers the very best. Your commitment, discipline, and sportsmanship make us proud, and we will be cheering you on every step of the way.

📢 Important Update: Our Use of Facebook

We are making an adjustment to how we use our school Facebook page.

Moving forward, Facebook will be used primarily to:

  • Communicate key school events
  • Share important updates
  • Provide reminders — similar to how we use Compass

Our school newsletter will now be the dedicated space for celebrating student learning, showcasing images of students engaged in classroom activities, camps, sporting events, and other school-based experiences.

This change has been carefully considered and is designed to protect our students’ digital footprint while still keeping families informed and connected. By being intentional about where and how we share images, we are prioritising student privacy and long-term digital safety.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to a busy and exciting Week 6.

Best Regards,

Warwick
