Term 1 Week 6
It was a sombre week this week with news of the passing of one our colleagues at Collingwood College. With so many links between our two schools many of us have been deeply affected. We continue to send our best wishes to the entire Collingwood College community.
I would like to thank the parents and community members who joined us last weekend for our working bee. It was very cathartic to see the very full skip being picked up on Monday, if you missed out and are keen to help there are a number of opportunities coming up (see below).
Looking ahead to next week:
Monday 9th - Public Holiday: It's Labour Day on Monday. No school.
Tuesday 10th - Collections for the March Market: Please keep your donations coming for our March Market (Saturday 21st March). Items in good condition can be dropped off at the school on Tuesday Morning. There are many ways you can help out and contribute to the event, donate items, sign up to help a stall on the day, come along and buy a sausage or a coffee on the day.
Wednesday 11th - NAPLAN begins: Students in Year 7 and Year 9 will be completing the NAPLAN assessments next week. Don't forget to charge your laptop and bring your headphones.
Friday 13th (Spooky) - Progress Reports Published: Keep an eye out on Friday for our revamped progress reports. These will be coming out in Week 7 of every term and are designed to give an insight into how it is all going at school.
Sunday 15th - Gardening Session: 'Seeking keen gardeners and any other parents or carers (or students) who have a garden tool and are happy to pull up some weeds at FHS. The Buildings and Grounds Subcommittee are organising a garden tidy up morning on Sunday 15 March. If you are able to help, please email Andrea at
