Spotlight on Learning - Frog

This term, our class has embarked on an exciting journey through the ancient civilisations of Greece and Rome in our Human Society and its Environment studies. We explored famous historical landmarks like the Colosseum and the Parthenon, discovering that the Parthenon sits atopolis the Acropolis. We also learned about Roman roads and the saying "all roads lead to Rome."
Our studies extended to Greek and Roman myths, including how the planets in our solar system are named after Roman gods. Through reading, we delved into connotation, imagery, and symbolism, which inspired us to create ancient-style amphoras decorated with Greek symbols and mythological scenes.
Recently, the students have been developing informative texts about the Colosseum, showcasing their research and writing skills. It has been a rich and creative term full of discovery and learning!

We learnt about Greece and Rome, and their gods. It was so interesting! Romans used stories to tell people about something. In Greece they sculptured stuff, then coloured it and painted it. They used sgraffito to make designs. We have been doing it this week. We were also learning about the messenger. Did you know that the messenger ran 24.2 miles twice, fought in a war and then ran 24.2 miles again, impressive right? We compared todays marathon to the story of the messenger.
