ASX SHARE MARKET CHALLENGE

MS MONIQUE WATT - CURRICULUM LEADER HUMANITIES

In an exciting display of financial prowess, students recently showcased their investment acumen in the prestigious ASX Share Market Challenge. This 12-week competition, hosted by the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), provides participants with a hypothetical sum of $50,000 to buy and sell shares, offering a taste of the fast-paced world of stock trading.

After weeks of strategic decision-making and careful analysis, three students emerged as the victors, earning not only the admiration of their peers but also the opportunity to translate their virtual success into real-world investments.

Among the standout performers from our school were Keenan Dreyer, Billy Kentish, and Brooklyn Benham, whose astute investment decisions propelled them to the top of the competition leaderboard. Their ability to navigate the complexities of the stock market and make shrewd choices in the allocation of their hypothetical funds set them apart from the competition.

The ASX Share Market Challenge is not only a platform for students to test their financial acumen but also an opportunity to learn valuable lessons about risk, reward, and the dynamics of the financial world. The challenge encourages participants to research and analyse market trends, understand the factors influencing stock prices, and make strategic decisions to maximise returns.

In recognition of their outstanding achievements, Keenan Dreyer, Billy Kentish, and Brooklyn Benham will each be awarded a cash prize to kick-start their real-world investment portfolios. This unique opportunity not only acknowledges their success in the ASX Share Market Challenge but also provides them with tangible resources to further hone their financial skills. Well done to all students who participated and I look forward to further student participation in the future.
