Student Achievements

PSC Art & Technology Exhibition

On Wednesday, 22nd November, students who have completed a subject in Art or Technology this semester, including our VCE students, showcased their outstanding artworks or products in our Art & Technology Exhibition. The creativity on display was truly remarkable.

Visitors to the Exhibition were asked to vote for their favourite artwork and products, and the results of these votes and the teacher awarded prizes, will be announced shortly.

We would like to thank the students, Ms Schinzig and all of our wonderful Art and Technology teachers for such a fantastic exhibition.

Here is just a small selection of the artwork/products that were on display.

Musical Performances at the Exhibition

Our visual artists were not the only students who displayed their talent at the Exhibition, several of our instrumental music students performed throughout the afternoon. The standard was incredibly high and we thank our gifted musicians (as well as Ms Hawking and Mr Southam) for their outstanding concert.

PSC Student at the Australian Open Tennis

Congratulations to Kai McQualter from 7.5 who has been chosen as one of the select few ballkids at the Australian Open next year.

This is quite an honour, as more than 1,000 children participated in the try-outs, and we are immensely proud of Kai's achievements. Kai went through two rigorous trials for the selection and will complete five on-court training sessions, as well as an official induction and orientation day, where he will learn about the tournament and his role.

Some of Kai's tasks at the Open will include retrieving tennis balls, supplying balls for the players to serve, providing the players with new or restrung tennis racquets, as well as towels and drinks. We wish Kai all the best at the Open and we look forward to watching him in action!

Second Semester Celebrations

Congratulations to all of the students who received awards for their efforts and achievements at their Sub-School Assemblies on Thursday, 22nd November.

To celebrate the hard work and dedication of our students, the assemblies were followed by celebratory lunches in all of our sub-schools and finally a series of activities to complete their semester 2 program.

Thursday marked the final day of classes for the year for our Year 10 and 11 students, with our Years 7-9 students commencing their 2024 Headstart Program on Monday, 27th November.

Maths Talent Quest

The Mathematics Talent Quest (MTQ) is a competition organised by the Mathematical Association of Victoria, that encourages students to carry out real world mathematically-based investigations. When participating in the MTQ, students learn to think and work like mathematicians!

This year, many students from our Years 7 and 8 classes were awarded either a Distinction or a High Distinction for their work. This is an incredible achievement and we are very proud that so many of our students have embraced mathematics. The students received a certificate on Thursday, 23rd November by the Mathematical Association of Victoria for their outstanding projects - Congratulations!
