Keep Christ in Christmas
John Atkin
How do we keep Christ in Christmas, on Christmas Day
We find a place of worship, go there, kneel and pray
We should give thanks for Jesus’ birth
And remember he came to make things good as he roamed around the earth
Take Christ from Christmas – what do we have, just a (mass) of earthly people
But if they kept Christ in Christmas they would be just as happy celebrating in their Church under the steeple
So Christmas time is here, peace and joy is what it’s all about
So acknowledge the reasons for Christmas time, kneel and say some prayerful thanks instead of getting drunk and roudy and shouting all about
Christmas should be a joyous time of peace and gifts all round
But remember it may not have been so but for God’s gift of a son, born in a lowly stable under the star of Bethlehem, to show the shepherds and wise men where Jesus Christ could be found
Christ will always in Christmas as it’s meant to be
It means we celebrate the birth of a man who walked upon this earth, and changed the way we respect each other for all eternity
Uniform News
We need you!
The second hand Uniform Shop is an amazing resource for our families, run by an incredible bunch of parent volunteers. Uniform Shop leader Desi, is hanging up her boots after dedicating eight years to ensuring parents have access to affordable, good-quality second-hand uniforms, not to mention providing a means for parents to sell their children’s outgrown uniforms.
We are now seeking a new Uniform Shop leader to manage volunteers and run the shop a few hours per month. You’ll be in charge of our new dedicated Uniform Shop near the Bletchley Road entrance which will open soon. It is a great way to meet parents, and connect with the broader community.
If you can spare some time please email secondhandshop@oakleighgrammar.vic.edu.au
