Student Wellbeing

Dear Families,

I wish you a happy and safe Christmas and New Year. Thank you for all your support and it has been a pleasure to work with and get to know students at SJV. I look forward to beginning the Resilience Project in 2024 and know this will be a wonderful addition to our Wellbeing Program. Let this Christmas be a time where we pray for Peace and Hope.

Our grade 3/4 students held a store selling loom bands to raise money for St Vincent de Paul and these raised a total of $294.05. This will make a real difference to someone's Christmas. Oliva and Mackenzie also collected toys for the poor and our Mini Vinnie's collected over 20 bags of food. We thank all our families for their generosity.

Valuing diversity and inclusion

A school that values diversity is confident and strong in its values and beliefs

Help your child to develop understanding, respect and acceptance of individual differences in your local school community and beyond the school gates. Respect for diversity in all its forms ensures that everyone in the school community feels a sense of belonging and connectedness.

You have an important role in helping your child understand, respect and value each individual in their school and wider community. A welcoming school culture values diversity and fosters positive, respectful relationships. A cohesive and culturally safe school ensures that everyone feels a sense of belonging and connectedness.

You can foster your child's respect for diversity and inclusion by:

  • Embracing cultural diversity in your child’s school
  • Exploring, understanding and valuing difference
  • Working in partnership with the school to tackle racism
  • Strategies to support diversity in the school community
