Ciao a tutti! I can’t believe two months have already flown by.

It has been such a joy getting to know the wonderful students at this school. I was truly impressed and very grateful to see how many of you were excited to speak Italiano with me and took every chance to chat, whether in the yard or outside the school gates.

I hope your passion for Italiano, and for learning languages in general, continues all the way to year 12 and throughout your whole life! My experience here has been absolutely wonderful, and it wouldn’t have been possible if I hadn’t learned another language. Learning languages has shaped who I am and opened doors to unforgettable experiences. They truly are portals to other worlds.

My time here in Brunswick has come to an end, but I will carry you all in my heart. I want to thank each of you once again, and especially the incredible Maestra Bruna, whom I’ve been very lucky to work with, as well as Zoe, Nicole and Drew, my wonderful host family - I couldn't have been luckier!

Before I go, I’ll leave you with the beautiful drawings the students made of me as part of a presentation activity. Every single one was fantastic, and I truly appreciated the effort you put into them. Choosing just one per class was nearly impossible, so I based my decision entirely on vibes! In Italian we say, “mi ha detto qualcosa” — “it said something to me.” But please know that I loved all your artwork. 🫶🏻
