Principal's Message

End of school year

As Term 4 draws to a close I would like to thank all students, staff and community for a fantastic year at BNPS.  We have experienced wonderful growth this year.  Growth in our student's learning and their efforts to live by our values.  Growth in our staff and how they work to maximise the opportunities our students have.  Growth in our connection as a community, with highlights such as the trivia night, concert, increased family participation in groups such as Open Streets and our community RAP, and of course the continued success of our cafe the 'Wick.  We have improved our school grounds and learning facilities through our department of education allocated funding and the generous contributions of our community. 

We have big plans to continue this momentum next year.  For now, I would like to thank you all for your contributions, and wish you a restful time with family and friends over the holiday break. 

A reminder that there is an early dismissal at 1:30pm on Friday December 19.  January 27 and 28 are student free days, with students returning for 2026 on Thursday January 29.  As always, these dates are on the compass calendar. 

Farewell Lina

A reminder that on Friday December 19 we will have a final assembly for the year at 1:15pm. This will be a chance to mark and celebrate the end of the school year, but more importantly will be the chance for our community to farewell Ms Lina, who will be retiring. Lina has been an invaluable servant of this community since 1992. If you are able, please join us to thank her.

Staffing update

As the year draws to a close it is time to thank staff who will be working elsewhere in 2026. Thank you to Paul, Zoe, Molly, Camille and Kim who will be working in other settings next year. We wish good luck to the staff taking leave for the 2026 school year - Travis, Fiona Skiffington-Moretti, Tate and Emma.

Preparing for 2026

Yesterday our students participated in transition sessions to meet their 2026 teachers and classmates. These sessions are an important part of our planning process, helping students feel confident and excited about the year ahead.

Students spent time in their new learning spaces, got to know their teachers, and began building connections with their classmates. The feedback from both students and staff has been overwhelmingly positive, with many children expressing enthusiasm about starting the new school year.

These transition experiences play a vital role in reducing anxiety and building anticipation for the learning journey ahead. Thank you to our teaching teams for creating such welcoming and engaging sessions, and to our students for approaching the day with open minds and positive attitudes.

We look forward to seeing our students thrive in their new classes when we return in 2026.
