Level 5 Camp
Students in level 5 attended the Waratah Bay Beach Camp at beautiful Waratah Bay from Monday 17th - Wednesday 19th November.
Over 3 wonderful days, students participated in a range of activities to build leadership, confidence and teamwork. Activities included beginner surfing lessons, the giant swing (Flying Fish), Nitro Crossing, Caterpillar Crawl, Treasure Island, Dolphin Dodge, Ropes Course, Beach Volleyball, Tabloid Sports,beach walks and marsh mellow cooking around an open fire.
Thank you to our amazing parent helpers and our incredible staff for giving your time to ensure the students had a wonderful experience.
Level 3 History Box Incursion
On Thursday 20th November, our Level 3 students participated in the History Box incursion. Students were invited to step back in time and explore the complex and significant events that shaped Australia between 1750 and 1800. Students examined the arrival of the First Fleet, early years of colonisation and the vastly different experiences and perspectives of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and the new arrivals.
Students were able to develop a deeper understanding of the causes and consequences of early colonisation on the people, culture and environment.
Public Speaking Competition
On Tuesday, 25th November, Rangeview Primary School participated in the Toastmasters Public Speaking Competition. This wonderful event was hosted by Rangeview and attended by Mt Pleasant Road Primary School, Antonio Park Primary School, Blackburn Lake Primary School, Mitcham Primary School, Rangeview Primary School and Whitehorse Primary School.
Students from levels spoke about a chosen topic.
- Foundation - "The best thing about me..."
- Level 1 and 2 - "If I could be any animal..."
- Level 3 and 4 - "An activity everyone should try..."
- Level 5 and 6 - "What happiness means to me..."
Our fabulous judges, Nola and Greer from Toastmasters commented on high standards of public speaking. Congratulations to all students that tool part and a huge thank you to Marita Horvath for organising the event.

Level 1 and 2 Bug Ball Party
In Term 4, students in Level 1 and 2 have participated in the Inquiry unit 'Backyard Safari'. To celebrate this learning, students took part in a Bug Ball Party, a fantastic session of dance and games hosted by the Bop Til You Drop company.
