2026 Foundation Transition Program

Last Friday was our final transition session for our 2026 Foundation students, and we wrapped it up in the best way possible — with each child choosing a pink, blue, or green Milo the Monkey to take home.  Milo the Monkey is the main character in Milo’s Birthday Surprise, an engaging story from Little Learners Love Literacy, the phonics program we use at Westbreen. Our students will get to know Milo, and friends, very well next year as they begin their reading journey!

The final stage of our Transition Program will take place next Monday, 1st December, from 5:00 to 6:00pm. Our 2026 Foundation parents are invited to meet us in the library, where they will be introduced to their child’s teacher and spend some time in the classroom to gain a sense of what a day at Westbreen will look like for their child.  We are also incredibly proud of our Grade 5 and 6 students, who once again demonstrated exactly what our Team Westbreen values are all about — Responsibility, Care & Compassion, Cooperation, Respect, and Achievement. 🌟💛

This week at Family Time, we’re celebrating Italian Day! Hooray! Or as the Italians say, Evviva!

To celebrate this joyous day, we will be making our very own paper craft of one of Italy’s most beloved foods… Pizza 🍕!! What’s your favourite toppings? Could it be pepperoni pom poms or grated string cheese? Maybe coloured paper mushrooms? The possibilities are endless! We can’t wait to see your delicious creations.

Join Atika, Rhoda & Miss Kerry tomorrow in the library from 3:15-4:15pm, see you then, or Ci vediamo allora, as Senora Annetta, Daniella & Angela would say!

Last week we had fun making, decorating, and then flying our paper planes. Thank you to Jonathan, Zane & Nicholas for bringing in their families to join us at Family Time last week. We can't wait for them to start in Foundation next year.

Sorry, not many photos, it was really busy last week, and most families were gone by the time I got the camera out! I'll make up for it this week, I promise!
