Stage 3 Religious Education - Celebrating the Sacraments
This term, our Years 5 and 6 students deepened their understanding of sacraments and sacramentality. They explored the seven sacraments and were encouraged to recognise God's grace not only in formal rituals but also in the ordinary moments of their daily lives. The unit specifically focused on the Sacraments of Penance (Reconciliation) and Holy Orders.
Through rich discussions and reflective activities, the children explored the themes of forgiveness, healing, and renewal related to Penance and learned about its central role in restoring relationships with God and community. Furthermore, they were introduced to the Sacrament of Holy Orders, examining the vocation to ministry within the Church and reflecting on the commitment of priests and deacons to faithfully serve God’s people. The students gained a valuable appreciation for how these sacraments act as visible signs of God's grace in the life of the Church.
