Shine the Light

Year 1
In Religion, the Year 1 students are learning about the Resurrection of Jesus. This week we have been focusing on the scripture story, The Road to Emmaus. In groups we role played the story with puppets and then we responded to the story by drawing a picture.
Year 3
The Year 3's read the book ANZAC Biscuits and then were excited to make their own. Then they wrote procedural texts on how to make the ANZAC Biscuits. They also learnt they were a biscuit that could last a long time without spoiling, they provided nourishment to the soldiers and they reminded them of home.
Year 4
Captain Cook was a lieutetant who charted Australia and New Zeland. Last week, we wrote secret codes made of symbols. Then we made a letter that was encoded, this means each means each symbol represented a different letter. We had to show patience and perserverance, but we are glad we did as they turned out amazing!
Kind Regards,Levi and Maddie
Year 5
In our Inquiry Design unit, Year 5's learnt about the First Fleet! We used air-dry clay to try and replicate the boats. Each of them looked different and amazing. It was lots of fun!
Year 6
In Year 6 last week, students had a fantastic three-day trip to Canberra, building on their Civics and Citizenship learning from last term. Highlights included visits to Old and New Parliament Houses, the Australian Electoral Commission, the Australian Institute of Sport, the War Memorial, Government House and Questacon.
