Government reporting: 2025 collection of student residential addresses and other information
Each year, non-government schools are required to collect the following information to provide to the Australian Government Department of Education:
- student residential address (excluding student names)
- names and residential addresses of parents and/or carers
- student education level (primary or secondary).
The school collects the above information by generating a unique and unidentifiable student reference number (SRN) for each student record, ensuring student names and other identifying information are not disclosed.
How this information is used
This information is combined with other data to calculate a non-government school community’s capacity to contribute to the costs of schooling. This may influence the level of recurrent Australian Government funding for non-government schools. The information is also used to inform Australian Government school education policies. More information is contained in the flyer linked below.
Action required
Please make sure your residential address and other details are up to date in our records. The simplest way to confirm and update your details is via your Operoo profile. Should you require more information or assistance with updating your details, please contact our Registry via email at registrar@girton.com.au or by calling the school on (03) 5441 3114.
Edstart
The school is working with Edstart to help give parents greater flexibility with school fee payments. Edstart will pay the school on your behalf, and you can spread your repayments in weekly, fortnightly or monthly instalments. You can also reduce your repayment amount with an extended plan over multiple years, for up to five years after graduation.
Edstart can be used to fund school tuition fees, including any overdue balances and other education-related expenses like uniforms and extracurricular activities.
Edstart is more flexible than a traditional payment plan. You can adjust your repayments at any time without incurring fees or charges.
Please note: In providing information about Edstart, Girton does not provide any recommendations, brokering or advice services. We do not receive referral fees, commissions or other remuneration from Edstart.
