Year 5/6 Learning Reflection

A huge well done to our school leaders for running their first assembly last Friday!
You did a great job and we are very proud of you already. Keep being the great role models that you are.
The Grade 5/6 students also had their first Interschool sports session last week. It was an away game and we versed Albion. Lots of fun was had and there were some wins and some losses. Overall awesome sportsmanship and respect was displayed towards all players and staff.
The soccer team also had a debriefing to discuss tactics after two excellent games.
As part of our Maths lessons this week the students have been learning about divisibility of factors, factors and multiples and prime and composite numbers. We have investigated the rules to find out if a number is divisible by 3, 5, 7 etc. and found out if a number is prime or not.
During our Literacy block, we have been learning about direct speech, inverted commas and revisiting persuasive letters and their features. We have also continued to read with a partner as part of our daily Paired Fluency sessions.
5A had an exciting event happen this week.
They appeared on the kids TV news program BTN. They were seen to be supporting the show and telling viewers who and where they are in Australia.
