Maths challenge of the week

Want a fun way to introduce algebraic expressions at home? These 'think of a number' problems are a great activity, as kids at any level can make a starting one. Have a go at this 'think of a number' at home this week.

Think of a number.

Add 3.

Multiply by 2.

Subtract 4.

Divide in half.

Subtract your original number.

Your result is 1!

If you can create your own 'think of a number' at home this week, please come and let Mr Baker know. We can share it in the next newsletter. Good luck!

Book Club - Issues 1 and 2

Scholastic Book Club is a service offered to students, parents and teachers. Brochures advertising a variety of books and computer software are sent home with each student, approximately twice a term.

Purchase of the books is not compulsory and there is no obligation. If you do wish to purchase any goods simply log into the Book Club site www.scholastic.com.au/LOOP and follow the prompts. All Book Club orders must be ordered and paid for via LOOP. Do not send order forms and cash to school. When the order arrives at school, books are sent home with students.

The School earns “Bonus Points” for each order which can be used to purchase new resources for classroom libraries and the school library.

We are still awaiting Issue 1 orders to arrive at school. Hopefully that will be very soon so students can read their new books.

Issue 2 is now available for ordering for the LOOP system and you can view the catalogue online. Paper versions of the Issue 2 catalogue will be coming home shortly. Issue 2 orders are due by Sunday 23rd March, 2025.
