Cranbourne Campus News

This week it was my honour to introduce to the College community our 2025 student College Leaders.
After a week of voting and interviews, the difficult task of selecting a pair, or an individual, for the positions available was difficult. There were many outstanding applicants who are more than capable of fulfilling the duties of the role they courageously applied for. Unfortunately, someone must miss out, Yet in disappointment there is much to be learnt about ourselves.
In the true spirit of leadership, our College Captains, who were asked to write some words as their first official duty, ensured each member of the 2025 student Executive team had an opportunity to introduce themselves to our community via this newsletter.
I'm sure that all will serve their community, families, and themselves proudly in the year to come.
From the 2025 Executive Captains - Cranbourne Campus
We express our sincere gratitude to everyone who listened to the captaincy speeches, especially the year 11 students who also participated in the portfolio presentations. Your involvement has shaped the leadership team of our school for 2025.We would also like to recognise all our friends and peers who applied for leadership positions this year. Your dedication and effort is truly commendable, and we appreciate your willingness to step forward.
At St. Peter’s College, our leadership team includes not only those who wear badges but also every individual who has put their name forward and we know that the executive is supported by a large number of students at St.Peter’s not just those in positions.
We, the Cranbourne executive of 2025 are so excited to work together and lead St.Peter’s College. Each of us bring unique talents to our respective roles and the one thing we all share in common is our passion for leadership. Below is a note from each captain as we begin our duties;
Anthony Krotwaar - Liturgy Captain: “I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be your 2025 Liturgy Captain. I will strive to spread the message of God’s love throughout the St. Peter’s College and wider communities, and nurture Jesus’ call to serve others. Clara Matters-Jara - Social Justice Captain: “To be 2025 Social Justice Captain is a great honour and it is a role I am so excited to pursue with optimism and persistence, aiming to serve those who are facing injustices in the St. Peter’s College community and the wider community. I would like to thank the 2024 Social Justice Captain, Alanah Spyrou for inspiring me to take on this role and showing me and St. Peter’s College what an incredible leader looks like. I look forward to working alongside my peers, teachers, and the social justice team to promote awareness and action on important social issues within our community. It is essential to create a community where everyone feels valued and heard. In this role, I will Be Not Afraid and stand up and be a voice for those who cannot do so themselves.”

As your Sport Captain in 2025 I will strive to make sure that participation, enthusiasm and sportsmanship is kept up like the following years. This position represents more than just a title to me; it embodies a chance to make a meaningful impact on our school community. I also look forward to collaborating with James, the Student Executive, fellow students and staff to bring new ideas and initiatives to life and create numerous everlasting memories. I am ready to contribute my energy and enthusiasm to create a vibrant and cohesive school spirit, and I am committed to working hard to uphold the values and standards of St Peter’s College.”

The culture of St.Peter’s College is one I wish to foster and strengthen throughout the year and I hope to make all students feel heard and welcomed. Remember, “It always seems impossible, until it's done” ~ Nelson Mandela.”
Sincerest thank you to the executive team of 2024, who we are currently sharing the roles with as we learn from them before we take on the role for our own. We are inspired by each of them and hope to continue their legacies within the college.
To the students, our leadership starts now, we are ready for your suggestions, questions or just for someone to talk to in the yard and we look forward to working with you all.
Thank you for your continued support.
