Dear Year 6 Parents,

Please find some information below about Week 7 and 8 in Year 6;

Writing - Creating News Reports: In our writing sessions this fortnight, we worked on catchy headings for a newspaper article. We also began the process of setting up our NewsRooms for the remainder of the term. All students have applied for a position in the news room and will begin their job next week.

Maths - Adding and Subtracting Fractions: This week we looked into adding and subtracting with common denominators. We investigated the steps to find the lowest common denominator and explored converting improper fractions to mixed fractions.

Inquiry – Mapping: the last two weeks we have focused on the key features of maps. We have created gaming maps and maps of our project country.

REMINDER: Inquiry project part 2 is due Friday September 13th and will be presented at the year level Country Expo on Tuesday September 17th.

Wellbeing Lessons

In Term 3 our Wellbeing unit covers the topics of Gender and Identity. More information on our RRRR curriculum can be found on our website at :

Graduation News: Emails were sent out to parents last week about the photos we require for graduation. Please start collecting these 3 photos and emailing them to class teachers. The assignment for the voice-over has also been uploaded to Google Classroom. Please check the very specific requirements of this task before uploading the voiceover to the task. Ideally we would like this in by the end of the term so please chat to your child about it.
