Hello from Grade 1/2S and Skye. 

Welcome back let's explore Term 4! 

What a rush of a week it has been for Week 1 of Term 4!

This week we have been practising our swimming skills! 

We were lucky to be first off the block heading to the pool all week. 

Students did a great job practising the vital skills we need to learn in a Country surrounded by water. 

Below are some photos from both 1/2S and 1/2D. 

In Reading and Writing this week we have begun to look at sentence structure, fluency and adjectives. 

Students were asked to write a sentence about their swimming experiences so far and this is what they wrote: 

In Mathematics we have begun exploring Fractions

Thus far we have been looking at parts of a whole and what fractions are.

We enjoyed reading the wombats’ picnic as the wombat had to share with so many other animals.

We have also looked at parts of a whole and how to make it using shape paper. The students have worked on halves, quarters and eighths. In our collective fraction work one student asked about thirds and we explored that with both squares and circles. Below is some of our work.
