Hello, from Carolyn.

Respect, responsibility and kindness

Hello everyone,

Welcome back everyone for Term 4! A very busy start to the term with swimming every day and excellent behaviour from our students, well done BPS!

School Saving Bonus.

As shared with you previously, parents and carers of every child enrolled in a Victorian government school in 2025 will receive the one-off School Saving Bonus $400 support.

In the coming months, the Department of Education will send you 2 email communications for each of your children enrolled in Victorian government schools.

By Friday 18 October 2024, please ensure that your child’s 2025 enrolment is completed and that your contact information is up to date.

The 2 emails from the Department of Education will:

1. Confirm your email address between mid-October and late-November.

2. Provide you with your unique $400 School Saving Bonus code by the end of November.

If you do not receive a confirmation email from the department by late-November, please check your spam or junk folders and contact Lou Bray if needed.

School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS)

Next week, we are focussing on "We follow instructions"- 'First time, every time'.

All our staff will be reinforcing this expectation with our students and actively teaching the expectation and using the language of 'First time, every time'.

Here is what 'We follow instructions' looks like-

*We will listen and follow staff directions.

*Respond to your name- eyes on the speaker and/or a polite verbal response.

*Acknowledge the directions- verbal.

*Complete the directions given first time every time.

You might like to use 'First time, every time' at home too to reinforce your own, and our school expectations.

School Sunmart policy.

A reminder that we have a sunsmart policy. All students are required to wear sunsmart hats. Please make sure your child has a sunsmart hat that is clean and tidy and at school. Students without a hat are asked to play undercover downstairs or in the library. Hats can be purchased from Noone or similar hats can be purchased from shops such as Target or Kmart. Our student receive regular reminders to apply sunscreen. We supply sunscreen at school, you can also supply sunscreen for your child if they have an allergy to certain products.

Free excess furniture.

Check the Nettle St entrance to school for some small tables we are giving away. they make great Lego tables or tables for cubby houses. We also have a large crash mat that we no longer use. The crash mat is stored inside so if you are interested in that, please let me know.

I'm finishing this week's newsletter with very sad news from one of our school families. Robbie Dixon, much loved partner of Nikki and father to Louen and Freya, and beloved friend of many, passed away unexpectedly in the holidays. On behalf of our school community I am sending our deepest sympathy and much care and love to the Dixon family. A very heartfelt thank you to our many school families who have stepped up to support Nikki, Freya and Louen in different ways, including providing meals for the family. If you would also like to offer your support, you can get in touch with Jess White- jessclairewhite@gmail.com

warm regards,

Carolyn.
