Senior Years Update
Year 11
Our year 11 students are completing their final assessments for the term and have been planning their holidays to ensure they are balancing the demands of both Unit 4 and Unit 2 classes as well as prioritising time for rest and socialising.
In our wellbeing program we continue to focus on life ‘beyond the gates’. Students have experienced financial literacy sessions and a session for R U OK? Day. The latter involved discussions about ways to support friends and ways to access/seek support yourself in new environments. There are some fantastic resources located on the REACHOUT website for both students and parents to navigate change, study schedules and general wellbeing concerns that we have been using in this and our general wellbeing program.
Below is an infographic that outlines the topics that were covered for students during our financial literacy session.

Year 12
We have reached that point in the year where we begin to plan and arrange the celebrations for the graduating class. Having been the year level coordinator for the Class of 2024 across the last three years, I can hardly believe we are at this point. I am so incredibly proud of all they have achieved and cannot wait to celebrate with them in the coming weeks. As part of our preparations for their graduation students have been taking time to reflect on their journey at Shelford. They have prepared letters to staff who have impacted them individually and educationally, wrote memories, uploaded old photos and remembered some of their favourite times here. I have attached a collection of these below, as well as a summary of the key events and relevant booking links that were distributed via Shelly last week.
Shelford Memories
Shelford has been my home since I was 3. To me, Shelford has always been more than a school, it’s a place to feel welcome, safe and a part of a strong community. It’s something very special, that I hope stays with everyone after they leave for the last time. – Octavia
Shelford has helped shape my confidence and values over the years. It’s scary to think that we will be moving on so soon; I’ll miss the close-knit environment and the memories made, which have made time here truly special. - Alex
Shelford has been incredibly important to me, offering both a wonderful education and a supportive community. I’ll miss the friendships I have made along the way as well as the outstanding teachers. As I near the end of this journey, I'm grateful for the ways Shelford has helped me grow. -Georgie
