Year 8 Update
Supporting Wellbeing and Community Spirit
It is hard to believe that we are already at the end of Term 3.
I know the students are looking forward to the holidays after a big term of learning. I hope it is a restful break in which we can all enjoy the Spring weather!
Recently, the Year 8 students participated in the Prime Minister’s Annual Spelling Bee. Congratulations to Isabella S and Prisha S for competing in the State Finals! Thank you for your efforts representing our school.
Earlier this term, students participated in House Activities. They had a wonderful time making bracelets and decorating cupcakes. It was a great way to celebrate Term 3 and to spend time together as a Shelford community.
Last Thursday was R U OK? Day. An important day which encourages one and all to look out and support each other, particularly when it comes to mental health. The students completed age-appropriate activities and learnt how to find appropriate support for themselves and their peers when times get tough.
This week, Year 8 students will once again, come together with the Year 7s to take part in a Proactivity session. The session will focus on Self-Defence, the activity will be a great way for students to support their physical health before the end of term.
Take care all and I look forward to seeing you in Term 4.
