CURRICULUM FOCUS
We are learning to recognise and recall positive emotions.
ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING
Emotions Journal:
- Provide the child with a notebook or journal.
- Encourage them to draw or write about moments in their day that made them happy or that they felt positive emotions.
- They can use different colours to represent different feelings, or even include stickers and drawings.
- Regularly revisit the journal to reflect on these happy moments, discussing how they felt during those times.
Happiness Jar:
- Give the child a jar or container and some small pieces of paper.
- Each time something positive or enjoyable happens, have them write or draw it on a piece of paper and place it in the jar.
- When they need a mood boost, they can pull out a note from the jar to remember a happy moment.
